Watchers of the Sky
Let's talk about the four "Royal Stars" and the role these celestial guardians play in shaping our destiny. Each of these fixed stars sit in one corner of our night sky, in an almost perfect square, marking a sacred geometry that is a portal to another realm, and of infinite possibility.
The ancients have taught us that the Royal Stars are the benevolent entities who serve as the Watchers of the night sky and protect cosmic order. They are the gateways to Higher Consciousness, holding powerful vibrations.
Who are these ancient, powerful fixed stars?
⭐Tishtar (𐎫𐎴𐎠𐎰𐎹𐎶𐎡𐎹 | تشتر)
⭐Vanand (𐎺𐎴𐎠𐎴𐎫) | ونند)
⭐Sataves (𐎿𐎫𐎥𐎡𐎿) | ستویس)
⭐Haftoring (𐎰𐎹𐎳𐎠𐎴𐎥𐎴) | هفت اورنگ)
Or more popularly known in their Latin, Greek and Arabic names as:
⭐Aldebaran
⭐Regulus
⭐Antares
⭐Fomalhaut
The naming of these stars goes back to at least 4000 years ago by the ancient Babylonians, who identified these Fixed Stars as key markers of the zodiac, helping them to establish calendar systems and map the ecliptic.
Around 3000 years ago, ancient Iranians deepened the knowledge of the four "Royal Stars" into their cosmology by calling them the "Watchers of the Sky" who guarded the 4 Cardinal Directions (East, North, West, South). They helped maintain cosmic order by aligning us with the Sun's path.
These ancient, powerful stars were associated with favorable outcomes as long as we did the shadow work of facing certain obstacles within ourselves.
These four stars embody a duality:
1- The potential for great glory
2- The potential for destructive obsession
The ancients have taught me that working with these stars means having "noble" intention and a balanced approach to power. In my own practice, working with them has meant having truthful intention, radical self-awareness and integrating my shadows.
This is where the alchemy lives and what leads to favorable outcomes.
What do each of the stars represent?
⭐Tishtar/Aldebaran (Eye of the Bull): Manifestation
Location: Taurus constellation
Direction: Guardian of the Eastern Sky
Potential: Manifestation, rooting intentions in the earthly realm, initiating change, new cycle
Shadow: Challenges in maintaining integrity and honesty, especially in agreements
⭐Vanand/Regulus (Heart of the Lion): Sovereignty
Location: Leo constellation
Direction: Guardian of the Northern Sky
Potential: Leadership, sovereignty, the power to create and radiate
Shadow: Desire for revenge and unbalanced leadership/power
⭐Sataves/Antares (Heart of the Scorpion): Transformation
Location: Scorpio constellation
Direction: Guardian of the Western Sky
Potential: Transformation, transmutation, alchemy, rebirth through shadow
Shadow: Destructive obsession, grudges leading to conflict, resistance to letting go
⭐Haftoring/Fomalhaut (Mouth of the Fish): Vision
Location: Piscis Australis constellation (connected to Aquarius)
Direction: Guardian of the Southern Sky
Potential: Noble ideals, spiritual wisdom, inspiration, community, and transcendence
Shadow: Corruption, challenges in maintaining the purity of ideals and dreams
Upon the ancients naming them, the Royal Stars were once in the constellations of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. But over millennia, the constellations have shifted. The guardians are now in the mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.
What does this all this mean for us?
Some of us have these these Royal Stars activated in our birth charts and/or are experiencing their activation in the sky as it pertains to our charts.
There is potential to unlock obstacles in our life by becoming aware of the energy of these fixed stars. As protectors of the cosmic order within us, we can gain a lot of wisdom about this particular iteration of our soul's journey- namely our destiny, our purpose, our potential as well as our challenges and downfalls.
There is power here for us to work with, should we choose to. A transit reading with me will reveal the specificities of all this as it relates to you.
We are also collectively experiencing the continued lessons and impact of these celestial guardians depending on the planetary transits in the sky. Given this year's Virgo-Pisces eclipse series, we, as humanity, are undoubtedly feeling the unique intensity of this cosmic moment. With Venant (Regulus) in Virgo and Haftorang (Fomalhaut) in Pisces, themes of tyranny and corruption are being highlighted in massive ways to us.
I will share more on all this soon. Be sure to follow my instagram and my website vlog to stay dialled in.
with care,
