Scorpio New Moon 11/06/26

The New Moon arrives on November 9 at 16 degrees of Scorpio at 2:02 am ET, bringing us into the territory of truth and transformation.

With the Sun and Moon in the sacred waters of Scorpio, we are beginning this lunar cycle with a promise of change.

This year’s New Moon is particularly charged with undertones of power struggles, fears and the hard decisions we need to make to do something differently.

The Taurus Full Moon two weeks ago brought our relationship with security and attachment into focus. We were asked to consider where our attachments were leading us to resist change.

Now, the Scorpio Moon takes us deeper into those questions. It wants us to push past our hesitation to make necessary changes.

Scorpio’s emotional world runs deep. And with it comes the instinct is to protect what matters. But protection can also become control. Loyalty can become attachment. And the desire to feel safe can keep us stuck in circumstances that no longer reflect who we've become.

This New Moon’s wider square to Mars and Jupiter brings another dimension to the story. Mars, Scorpio's traditional ruler, is moving through Leo alongside Jupiter, stirring questions around courage and the need to live more (meaning)fully.

There's a powerful tension here.

Scorpio wants to understand what's happening beneath what’s apparent. Leo wants to express what lives within the heart.

One is asking us to descend. While the other asks us to rise.

And somewhere between the two, we will likely find the answer we've been suppressing. We may come to realize just how much of our energy we’ve devoted to protecting a life we've become afraid to outgrow.

Perhaps there's something you've wanted to pursue for years but haven't allowed yourself to take seriously. Or maybe it's even deeper than that, as you begin to recognize that what you once considered an essential part of your identity was actually a way of surviving.

This is the kind of realization that is both liberating and unsettling. Because while in the horizon is the promise of something new, we first have to reconsider our attachments.

And there's another important layer to this New Moon. Both Mercury and Venus are approaching the end of their retrograde journeys.

Mercury Rx has been asking us to reconsider the truths we've been willing (or unwilling) to acknowledge. Venus Rx has been revisiting our bargains and the terms of our relationships.

Both planets station direct on November 13, just four days after this New Moon.

So we're standing at an interesting threshold. Something we've been reviewing is approaching a turning point.

And with Mars moving toward a conjunction with Jupiter in Leo on November 16, there's considerable energy building around what we want to do with that understanding.

We may feel more courageous and determined, even restless to reclaim something we’ve neglected.

As we move through these two weeks, the Sun will square Jupiter and Mars before entering Sagittarius on November 22. From here on, there will be a different flow. A more hopeful one offering the possibility to not just get clearer on who we are and what we dream of, but to also start planning towards the changes we desire.

We can love the life we've built while acknowledging that parts of it need to change. And we can move toward something new without having every detail figured out.

Scorpio reminds us that transformation rarely begins with certainty while Sagittarius gives us the green light to go ahead.

Amidst the tensions of this lunar cycle, there is so much hope to change things in a direction that not only feels right, but is in integrity with our values, our hopes and our dreams.
